How it all started
It started with a dog named Waffles. Our founder was trying to find a meaningful gift for a friend's birthday — something personal, something funny, something that actually captured the chaos of living with a 12-pound terrier who thought he was a Great Dane.
A generic pet portrait felt too serious. A mug felt too forgettable. So she made a colouring book instead — custom-illustrated pages, each one capturing a real Waffles moment: the zoomies at 2am, the judgy stare at dinner, the dramatic nap positions.
Her friend cried laughing. Waffles looked unimpressed. And Express Your Pet was born.
